SINOPSIS
Fate/stay night cuenta las vivencias de Shirou Emiya durante dos semanas, un mecánico aficionado que asiste a la escuela Homurabara Gakuen en la Ciudad Fuyuki. Hace diez años, Shirou queda atrapado en un enorme incendio que incinera a su familia y consume una gran porción de la ciudad; cuando Shirou se da por vencido y acepta su propia muerte un enigmático hombre lo encontra agonizando y lo ayuda. Este hombre, Kiritsugi Emiya, adopta a Shirou, y con el paso del tiempo, revela su identidad como Mago a Shirou. Kiritsugu también cuenta a Shirou su fallido sueño de convertirse en "Héroe de la Justicia", un guardián de la humanidad que podría salvar cualquier vida en peligro. Por petición de Shirou, Kiritsugu intenta enseñar a su hijo magia, pero se descubre que Shirou no tiene talento para la mayoría de los hechizos fundamentales.
